Why do people obsess over things?
.
It appears that different people obsess over things for different reasons, and some people are more prone to it than others.
.
You may want to make sense of a situation but can’t seem to understand or accept it, so you keep replaying it. Other people want reassurance that they were right (especially if they feel that they were wrong).
.
Some people try to solve a problem or prevent similar things from happening in the future, but can’t figure out how. And others may just want to feel heard and validated, or want to feel justified in absolving themselves of responsibility.
.
In the martial arts world, it’s easy to get stuck on one idea, thinking your way is the only way. But the truth is, martial arts is full of diversity, and no one has all the answers – not me, not anyone.
.
My writings are just my thoughts, shaped by years of training and experience. They’re not absolute truths—how could they be? Who really holds all the answers? I know I don’t. They’re simply one perspective, and I’m okay with others seeing things differently.
.
At the end of the day, karate, like life, is about learning, understanding, and being open to change – not holding on too tightly to just one way of thinking.
