“Never worry about what others are doing.”

“Never worry about what others are doing.”  (end quote) – Zenpo Shimabukuro 10th dan Shorin-ryu Seibukan
.
.
Some people that always seem to be preoccupied with what those around them are doing, and what those around them are saying, or posting on social media, can’t seem to get ahead with their own lives. They get so stressed about everything that happens around them, about those situations and people that have nothing to do with them, with situations and behaviors that don’t even affect them.
.
Why in the world would you care what others are doing with their lives, their dojo (or mcdojo), or their training? Why in the world would you stress about their actions and behaviors? If you keep on worrying about others, if you are always looking to see what they are doing, you will have no time to work on yourself. You will have no time to improve and grow.
.
Stay on track by ignoring what other people are doing and where they are going. Be driven by your own passion, and not by the approval, or the distain of others. Focus on yourself, your own development. Create and remain on your own path. In the end what does worrying about others achieve?
.
Focus on your goals, big or small. Work towards achieving them, even if they seem scary or you are worried what people might say. OWN your goals. Disregard what others want for you, it isn’t for them to say.
.
The bottom line is, we truly have this one life, and life is short. Do you really want to spend even a few precious moments of that time worrying what other people think or what they are doing?
.
Make a conscious effort to let go of what you believe other people are thinking. It’s a skill that needs to be practiced, like any other. Remember that only you have control over your life, so make it great. ??
