Time is the one opponent we cannot defeat, yet it’s the one we often underestimate the most.
.
The reason why people keep saying, ‘the trouble is you think you have time,’ is because when we’re younger, time seems to move so slowly. But as we age, it speeds up.
.
You gain this new perspective, reaching new and deeper understandings about how time works and why you need to treat it like the precious resource it is and manage it the right way.
.
So there is no point in wondering what if. There is no point in pondering what could’ve been. There is no point in believing in what should’ve been. There is only the way things actually are – NOW. The rest is all made up in your mind.
.
‘You think it’ll last forever, people and cars and concrete, but it won’t. One day it’s all gone. Even the sky.’
.
Time does not care about anything but moving forward. What you do with your time is solely up to you, so make the best of it by being the best YOU possible.
.
Don’t waste your most valuable asset – Time.
.
If people don’t want to practice, or listen, or learn, that’s okay. It’s your choice. Time isn’t the main thing; it is the only thing. To a martial artist, time is their most terrifying opponent. The martial arts road is a daily struggle: Do I have time to train, for family, for work? Will I remember the kata, the drills, the techniques?
.
No matter how remarkable or talented you are, in the end, time will slowly sap away all of your energy and strength.
.
As time moves on and we get older, our karate changes, as it should. But of course, the younger generation doesn’t view it like this. NOW is the moment for them, and this too is as it should be.
.
In the end, time claims all victories, so choose your battles wisely and make each moment count. Make time for what is important, as before too long, there isn’t any more.
