You ARE going to get cut!

You ARE going to get cut!
.
If you think that knife attacks look anything like those typically seen in martial arts classes—you can be dead (sic) wrong.
.
Real attacks, by people who are familiar with a knife’s properties and true potential, are a blur of short, non-committed stabs and cuts that are practically impossible to stop.
.
An attacker, with any idea of what he or she is doing, will overwhelm you with a hail of cuts that will start at the nearest body part and end in a vital target. Within a second you may lose your fingers, have severed tendons of your arms, and be finished with a stab to your eye, or throat, or trunk.
.
The problem with martial arts knife defenses is that often the onus is on the attacker, to attack correctly to make the defense work. And that’s NOT how life works. The reality is that you probably won’t see the knife until you have already been stabbed.
.
Someone who wants to hurt you with a knife isn’t going to hurt you through one, simple, clean attack. And even if they do, there’s a very good chance your knife defense will fail. If you drill that defense 1,000 times, you might find that you get lucky just a few times.
.
If you are attacked with a knife, you ARE going to get cut, and if it doesn’t end straight away, one of you isn’t walking away from it.
.
But if your life is threatened (and not just your wallet), you have to consider any defense that’s available to you.
.
To make this clear:
.
There is no good way for an unarmed person to face an armed person. The best option is to get away, to escape. By training long enough and consistently in that exact situation, you get skills others don’t have. We can’t tell if that will work for you in a real attack, until you are able to survive someone trying to kill or harm you. Training does not equal actual success, the two things are different.
.
You must have the correct mindset in order to face such attacks……. One Mind. Any Weapon. – The concept is that the ability to deal with an enemy is not so much reliant upon the weapon at hand, but the mind’s ability to adapt to the needs of the situation.
.
Please, don’t let people believe they can protect themselves against a knife attack easily. The real world of knife attacks are that they are vicious, brutal, fast and effective. And really easy to hide until it’s all but too late. You rarely if ever leave a knife attack without an injury. Success is minimizing those injuries, and living through an attack. ??
